In a very interesting letter sent to council, Black Press (Cowichan Valley Citizen) urges council to cancel all announcements, updates, surveys, etc promoted through Meta (Facebook).
Their plan? Divert the funds to media outlets such as themselves, so they can pay their journalists.
Is this a shot in the dark to become state-controlled? Only time will tell!
What do you think, should we divert tax payer advertising funds directly to local media for announcements and community updates?

I agree, keep the money in community hands.
NO META…RESIST!!
It already is state controlled media.
At one time they would publish my letters but stopped when I criticized the council’s handling of certain issues.
The letters now are all politically correct and sing the party song

Yes divert it!. Because its better to keep the money local, even if it is to their own journalists.
